Holland Sprouse

Raleigh Holland Sprouse, age 84, of 1681 Forestside Drive, Columbus, Georgia, died Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at Muscogee Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. Sprouse was born June 1, 1914, at Frost, the son of the late Hilday and Ressie Gragg Sprouse.
He was a retired mechanic with Civil Service and a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in WWII. He had lived in Columbus most of his life and was a member of the Columbus-Ft. Benning Shrine Club and Provost Guard. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Rosehill Masonic Blue Lodge, The Scottish Rite, Phoenix City Moose Lodge, and the V.F.W. He was a Protestant.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Whitley Sprouse, of Columbus, Georgia; one daughter, Selda King, of Greenville, Virginia; two sons, Larry Sprouse, of Clifton Forge, Virginia, and Gene Sprouse, of White Bluff, Tennessee; two step-sons, Will Dockery and David K. Dockery, both of Columbus; 3 sisters, Dorothy Christenson, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, Shirley Bell Freeman, of White Sulphur Springs, and Martha Wyatt, of Marlinton; 3 brothers, Oliver Sprouse, of Dunmore, Quentin Sprouse, of Frost, and Elvin Sprouse, of Jarrettsville, Maryland; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday, in Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend David Howle.

Dale Sharp

John Dale Sharp, age 78, of St. Albans, died June 27, 1998, in McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond, Virginia, after a long illness. He was born at Frost on May 9, 1920, the son of the late Austin John and Icie Vesta Shrader Sharp. He was a retired co-owner of Sharp-Shepard Automotive, South Charleston, and a World War II Veteran. He is survived by two brothers, Styrl Sharp, Sr., of Covington, Virginia, and Kyle Sharp, of Frost.
His wife, Mary, brother, Neal Sharp, and two sisters, Julia Lee and Lurabelle, preceded him in death.
A memorial service was held Thursday, July 2, 7p.m. at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to: St. Peters United Methodist Church, 2601 Forrestal Ave. St. Albans, WV 25177.
