James W. Shreve
Dr. James William "Bill" Shreve, 83, of Elkins, died November 8, 1998, at Davis Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 8, 1915, in Mill Creek, the son of the late John Bosworth and Rachel Patterson Shreve.
On December 31, 1941, he married the former Elizabeth "Betsy" Barnett, of Clover Lick, who preceded him in death on October 10, 1994.
Surviving are one son, Dr. John R. Shreve, Elkins; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Mitchell, Akron, Ohio, and Mary Marcella Rust, Virginia Beach, Virginia; one sister, DeSales Lothes, of Elkins; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Heather Keller.
Dr. Shreve was a graduate of Coalton High School with the Class of 1933, and a graduate of Davis & Elkins College with the Class of 1937.
He graduated from Northwestern University with the Class of 1941 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.
He was a member of the Elkins Third Degree Knights of Columbus and was past faithful navigator of Our Lady of Peace Assembly, Knights of Columbus, of Clarksburg. He was a member of the Saint Brendan Catholic Church where he served for eight years on its Parish Council. He was also a member of the H.W. Daniel's Post No. 29, American Legion.
Dr. Shreve served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps during World War II. He first practiced dentistry at Marlinton from 1941-42 and then in Elkins from 1946 until his retirement in 1985.

Henry W. Rogers
Henry W. Rogers, age 93, of Greensboro, North Carolina, died November 16, 1998. He was a native of Hillsboro and brother of Mrs. Dan (Emma) Skaggs, of Marlinton.

Eva S. Shrader
Eva Mae Sheets Shrader, age 83, of Beard Heights, Marlinton, died Monday, November 16, 1998, in Pocahontas Memorial Hospital, after several months of ill health.
Mrs. Shrader was a member of Marlinton United Methodist Church, Eastern Star Marlinton Chapter #97, and American Association of Retired Persons.
Born in Enid, Oklahoma, April 13, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Delano and Rose Darnell Sheets. She was the widow of the late G. Raymond Shrader. Also preceding her in death were a sister, Erma Sheets Heintz, and three brothers, Carl Sheets, Glen Sheets, and Earl Sheets.
Her only survivors are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Thursday in the Marlinton United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dennis Mehaffie, with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
