Ina Hill
Ina Mary Hill, age 86, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in Pocahontas Center, Marlinton.
Mrs. Hill was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and Farm Women's Club.
She was born July 18, 1913, at Jacox, the daughter of the late William W. and Lucy Dean Curry.
In addition to her parents, a daughter, Wanda Jean Hill, and two sisters, Ruth Cutlip and Helen Clark, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh C. Hill; a daughter, Dottie Eckert, of Boulder, Colorado; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. Thursday at VanReenen Funeral Home by Robert Mann, with burial in the Kellison Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to American Cancer Society.

Georgene Cutlip
Georgene Cutlip, age 78, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
She was a retired cook and a member of the United Methodist Church.
The daughter of Walter and Ada Hogsett Grimes, she was born at Huntersville May 29, 1921.
She was the widow of Lynn Cutlip. Others preceding her in death were her parents; three sisters, Delphia King, Leah McLaughlin, and Verian Ritchie; and two brothers, Ermon Grimes and Ellis Grimes.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcelle Ryder, of Marlinton, and Patricia Kerns, of Hillsboro; a son, Dwain Wilcox, of Hillsboro; a sister, Euva Ruth Day, of Belington; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a. m. Wednesday at VanReenen Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Moore, with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Marlinton Rescue Squad.

Clyde H. Lewis
Clyde Harold Lewis, age 63, of Marlinton, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Lewis was a 40-year employee of the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources, Manager of the Edray Trout Hatchery, having received his 40-year service pin earlier in the week.
He was born at Hinton February 26, 1937, the son of the late Clarence and Mary Lee Lewis.
Surviving him are his wife, Barbara Lewis, and a sister, Phyllis Johnson, of Lewisburg.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church at Hillsboro by Roger Williams, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro.
Memorials may be made to Pocahontas County Humane Society or Oak Grove Presbyterian Church.

Burl E. Dumire
Burl Edward Dumire, age 51, of HC69, Marlinton, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Dumire was a heavy equipment operator in the coal mines. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
The son of the late Carl and Ruth Moss Dumire, he was born at Marlinton on July 22, 1948.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Dumire; three daughters, Lisa Bennette, of Danville, Amy Dumire, of Shenandoah, Virginia, and Cathy Wade, of Marlinton; two brothers, Harry Dumire, of Muskego, Wisconsin; and ten grandchildren.
A brother, Harold Dumire, is deceased.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at VanReenen Funeral Home by the Rev. David Slawter, with burial in the Gibson Cemetery, Slatyfork.

Woodrow Wilson Sharp
Woodrow Wilson Sharp, age 88, of Cass, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at his home in Cass.
Mr. Sharp was a Methodist and was a skidder foreman for Mower Lumber Company and also worked for Howes Leather Company.
He was born February 23, 1912, in Mingo County, the son of the late Eslie and Alice Gay Sharp.
Surviving him are his wife of 62 years, Lula Galford Sharp; four daughters, Linda Matheny, of Green Bank, Connie Sharp, of Red Oak, Texas, Helen Coleman, of Green Bank, and Leona Sharp, of Cass; six sons, Norman K. Sharp, of Dallas, Texas, James Sharp, of Cass, Paul Sharp, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Alvin Sharp and Steve Sharp, both of Crawfordville, Florida, and Ivan Sharp, of Grand Prairie, Texas; two brothers, Meade Sharp and Hughes Sharp, both of Harrisonburg, Virginia; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale by the Rev. Julian Rittenhouse. Burial was in Hill Top Cemetery on the Back Mountain Road.

Gary Lee Davis
Gary Lee Davis, of Rainelle and Los Angeles, California, died April 30, 2000, in Rainelle.
Born November 7, 1944, he was the son of Charles E. and Dorothy Gum Davis.
He is survived by his father, Charles Everett Davis, of Rainelle; a son, Gregory Davis, of Los Angeles, California; two sisters, Dreama Latz, of Cerritos, California, and Deloris Davis Kay, of Richmond, Virginia.
He was the nephew of Thelma Gum Shinaberry, of Huntersville, and Ruby Cantebury, of St. Albans.
Interment was at Culloden on May 5.

Leanna Elizabeth Friel
Leanna Elizabeth Friel, age 78, of Marlinton, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at home.
Mrs. Friel was a member of the Marlinton Presbyterian Church. She formerly worked as a restaurant cook.
She was born August 22, 1921, at Marlinton, the daughter of Cameron E. and Goldie Shrader Beverage.
A brother, Kenneth Beverage, preceded her in death.
Surviving her are her husband, Joseph Edward Friel; two sons, Allen Friel, of Petersburg, and George Friel, of Buckeye; six daughters, Brenda Beverage, of Marlinton, Arlene Hilleary, of Buckeye, and Jacoba Mann, of Marlinton, Shelby Burch, of Springfield, Virginia, Linda Davis, of Winchester, Virginia, and Margaret Underwood, of Harrisville; a sister, Hertha Sweeny, of Charleston; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday morning in the Marlinton Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Randy Benson. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.

Evelyn D. Lightner
Evelyn Dill Lightner, age 84, formerly of Cass, died May 4, 2000, at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fishersville, Virginia.
She was born March 18, 1916, at Cass, a daughter of the late Ernest and Rosa Sensabaugh Dill.
Mrs. Lightner was a member of the Cass United Methodist Church and was active in the women's fellowship. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the Postal Service for 33 years, having served as Postmaster for 21 years in Cass.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Neoma Kane, Audra "Polly" McPherson, and Ernestine Waugh, and also by three brothers, Wallace Dill, Oscar "Chief" Dill, and Edmond Dill.
Surviving are her two children, Tom Lightner, of Huntington, and Nancy Taylor, of Fort Defiance, Virginia; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at 11 a. m. Monday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale by the Rev. John Sayre, with burial in the Arbovale Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Cass United Methodist Church in Cass or to the Cass Rescue Squad.

Donald Ray Bing
Donald Ray Bing, age 67, of Huntington, died May 3, 2000, at home.
He was retired from Chapman Printing, Wayne County News, and Huntington Publishing Company. He attended Green Valley Baptist Church and was a member of Western Star Masonic Lodge 11, Guyandotte.
Surviving him are his wife, Willodean Merritt Bing; sons, Mike Bing, of Minnehaha Springs, David Bing, of Harmony, and Tim Bing, of Gandeeville; sisters, Juanita Marcum, of Proctorville, Ohio, and Judy Chapman, of Glenwood; and four grandchildren.
Service was held Friday afternoon at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, by Pastor Robert Ray. Burial was in Mills Cemetery, Wayne.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington.

Selena Sandahl Chestnut
Selena Sandahl Chestnut, age 15, of Staunton, Virginia, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
She was born September 1, 1984, at Staunton, Virginia, a daughter, of James A. and DaNette "Penny" Hicks Chestnut.
She attended Oak Hill Baptist Church at Middlebrook, and attended Valley Vocational Technical Center.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Sierra C. Chestnut, at home; maternal grandparents, Richard and Bonnie Hicks, of Monterey, Virginia; paternal grandparents, Carl and Emily Chestnut, of Dunmore; great-grandmother, Mercedes Hicks, of Ohio; great-great-grandmother, Lottie Corbett, of Monterey.
A funeral service was conducted Friday afternoon in the Obaugh Funeral Home at McDowell, Virginia, by the Rev. Jerry Ginn and the Rev. Eicky Woodson. Burial was in the Green Hill Cemetery.

Mildred Cunningham Wolfe
Mildred Cunningham Wolfe, age 88, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Pocahontas Center, Marlinton.
Mrs. Wolfe was a retired purchasing agent at Fort Eustis, Virginia, and a member of the Swago United Methodist Church.
Born in Marlinton October 9, 1911, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Campbell Cunningham.
Her husband, Michael Wolfe, is deceased. Also deceased are two sisters, Mary Virginia Hutson and Ruth Cunningham.
She is survived by two sisters, Ethel Wamsley, of Huttonsville, and Pauline Frye, of Fairmont.
Funeral services will be held at VanReenen Funeral Home at 2 p. m. Friday, by Bob Mann. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Visitation will be at VanReenen Funeral Home Thursday from 6 to 9.
