Phyllis Sheets Robeck
Phyllis Sheets Robeck died on Friday, May 12, 2000, in Vista, California, after a long illness.
Her parents were the late Edna Lynch Sheets and Carl Lynn Sheets.
She was a graduate of Marlinton High School, Class of 1939, and Strayer Business College in Washington, D. C. She served in the WACS in World War II.
Her husband, Leif Robeck, and a sister, Polly Tesso, preceded her in death.
Surviving her are one son, John McLean, who lives in Ocean Side, California, and two daughters, Joanne Martin, who lives in San Diego, California, and Jennifer McLean, who lives in Rockville, Maryland; a brother, Harry L. Sheets, of Marlinton; five grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery on May 23. at 2 p. m. with graveside rites.

Brenda Kay Nelson Higgins
Brenda Kay Nelson Higgins, age 42, died Monday, May 1, 2000, in Tennessee, as the result of an automobile accident.
Brenda was born April 22, 1958, the daughter of Jackie Walter Nelson and the late Kay Nelson.
She is survived by her father, Jackie, brother, Jack, and stepmother, Petronila, of Oxnard, California; two daughters, Rebecca and Stephanie Higgins, and one son, Jonathan Higgins, of Michigan; two half-sisters, Mario and Assunta Cuevas, and one halfbrother, Antonio Cuevas. Jr., of California.
Brenda is the granddaughter of Jefferson W. Nelson, of Marlinton, and the late Grace Nelson.
Graveside services were held Sunday, May 14, at the Jacob C. Harper Cemetery at Harman.

Donnie Glen Bussard
Donnie Glen Bussard, age 51, of Monterey, Virginia, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at his residence.
He was born May 27, 1948, at Blue Grass, Virginia, a son of Erwin Lewis and Lorraine Elizabeth Simmons Bussard.
Prior to his illness, he was employed by Wampler. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his parents, Erwin L. and Lorraine Bussard, of Monterey, he is survived by two sons, Rocky G. Bussard, of Monterey, and Christopher M. Bussard, of Roanoke, Virginia; three sisters, Betty Jean Tracy, of Arbovale, Janet E. Hunt, of Monterey, and Lois Elain White, of Monterey; one brother, Raymond Allen Bussard, of Monterey; three grandchildren; and companion, Patricia Ann Grogg, of Monterey.
Mr. Bussard was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Lewis Bussard, on October 29, 1982.
Funeral services were Wednesday at the Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Jerry Ginn and the Rev. Leroy Dierth, Burial was In the Blue Grass Cemetery.

Andrew W. Brock
Andrew W. Brock, age 82 years, of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, died May 15, 2000, in Easton Hospital, Easton, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Brock retired in 1976 as Industrial Arts Teacher with 21 years experience in Nazareth Senior High School; before that he taught the same for six years in Rowlesburg, where he established and operated Brock Printing. He was a 40-year member of St. John's U.C.C., where he served as a Consistory Member, was on the Building and Grounds Committee, sang in choirs. he was also a member of Whitfield Lodge #622 I F.&A.M.. Nazareth, and for many years served on the Upper Nazareth Planning Commission.
Born at Lobelia July 29, 1917, he was the son of the late Remus W. and Omie Wamsley Brock.
Surviving him are his wife, Beryl S. Brock; a son, Gregory W. Brock, of Lexington, Kentucky; two brothers, Charles Brock, of Parsons, and Sanford Brock, of Elkins; three sisters, Delilah Morrison, of Akron, Ohio, Delores Jesse. of Detroit. Michigan, and Dora Barnes, of Medina, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday morning at St. John's U.C.C., with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Nazareth.

Carol H. Callaghan
Carol Hayslett Callaghan, 61, of Hudson, Florida, died on May 3, 2000, following a long battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Lathey and Catherine Hayslett and born in Marlinton on September 10, 1938.
Mrs. Callaghan attended school in Marlinton and Richwood.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Callaghan; two sisters, Betty Rose, of Crestview, Florida, and Kaye Miller, of Newport, North Carolina; and a half-sister, June Crumley, of Chula Vista, California.
A memorial service will be held on June 5 at Craigsville. The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice, Newport Richey, Florida 34653.

Helen H. Marsh
Helen Hayslett Marsh, 54, of Bradenton, Florida, died April 18, 2000, following a long fight against cancer.
She was born on April 17, 1946, at Marlinton, the daughter of Lathey and Catherine Hayslett
Mrs. Marsh is survived by a son, Tim Marsh, of Bradenton; three daughters, Betty Irwin, Michelle Cleveland, and Lauri I Marsh, all of Bradenton; three sisters, Betty Rose, of Crestview, Florida, Carol Callaghan, of Hudson, Florida, and Kaye Miller, of Newport, North Carolina; a half-sister, June Crumley, of Chula Vista, California; and four grandchildren.
Private memorial services were held on April 29. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
