Clyde L. Blake, Jr.
Clyde "Lee" Blake, Jr., age 38, of Salem, Virginia, died Friday, November 24, 2000, from injuries received in a hunting accident near Renick.
Lee was a truck driver for USF Red Star Express in Salem, and was a member of Teamsters Local #171, of Roanoke, Virginia.
He is survived by his father, Clyde Lee Blake, Sr., of Winchester, Virginia; mother, Elizabeth Kellison Hanna, and her husband, Monford, of Renick; sisters, Ressie Windon, of Hillsboro, and Sheila Yates, of Marlinton; and one brother, Kevin Blake, of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Services were held Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Rev. Ron Miller officiating. Burial will followed in Morningside Cemetery at Renick.

Delbert H. Reed, Jr.
Delbert Hanson Reed, Jr., age 53, of Beaver Creek, died Wednesday, November 22, 2000, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Delbert graduated from Marlinton High School and Nashville Auto Diesel College.He had worked in the automotive service field for 35 years. He was a member of the Marlinton United Methodist Church and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam era. He was involved in sports for much of his life, both as a football and softball player, and as a coach of Little League and Midget football. He was an avid outdoors-man and archer with many state archery titles. He was president of the Pocahontas Bowhunters and an active member and instructor for the Pocahontas County Shooting Sports.
The son of Norma Shrader Reed Gillis, of Marlinton, and the late Delbert Hanson Reed, Sr., he was born at Marlinton February 21, 1947.
His father, a sister, Lois Ann Parsons, and two brothers, Duane Reed and Harold Reed, are deceased.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Vivian Leigh Sharp Reed, and their two sons, Brian Lee Reed and David Allen Reed, all of Beaver Creek.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the VanReenen Funeral Home by Pastor Robert Mann. Burial with military rites was in the Sharp Cemetery on Jericho Road.

Jewell V. Wooten
Jewell V. Wooten, age 80, of Partlow, Virginia, died at Mary Washington Hospital on Sunday, November 26, 2000.
Born in Cass, she was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Wooten, and son, James E. Wooten, Sr.
She is survived by three sons: Ellis B. Wooten, of Partlow, Ralph E. Wooten, Sr., of Iowa, George J. Wooten, Jr., also of Partlow; two daughters, Winona J. Gilliam, of Woodbridge, Virginia, Wanda G. Wooten, of Partlow; twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great -grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services were held Wednesday at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria, Virginia.
