Donna Jean Dunbrack

Donna Jean Weiford Dunbrack, age 59, of Marlinton, died in Alleghany Regional Hospital at Low Moor, Virginia, on Saturday, January 13, 2001, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Dunbrack was a beautician and hairdresser and the owner of Style Rite Beauty Salon in Marlinton for 40 years. She was a past Matron of Marlinton Chapter #97, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the Marlinton Presbyterian Church.
She was born May 28, 1941, at Buckeye, the daughter of the late William Paul and Mary Elizabeth Graham Weiford.
Surviving her are her husband, George Douglas Dunbrack; a daughter, Addie Buckley Dunbrack Pennington, of Barboursville; and a brother, Walter Weiford, of Buckeye.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Marlinton Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Randy Benson, with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
An Eastern Star Service was held Monday night.

Arnold McKinley Cook

Arnold McKinley Cook, age 88, of Marlinton, died Friday, January 12, 2001, at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor, Virginia.
Mr. Cook was retired from Union Carbide. He was a member of and active in Senior Citizens.
Born on Beaver Creek November 22, 1912, he was the son of the late Luke and Docia Pyles Cook.
His wife, Ramona Lee Poage Cook, preceded him in death. Also deceased are two sons, Kenneth Edward Cook and Paul Osbourne Cook; a sister, Glenna Pearl Lane; and four brothers, Earl, Raymond, Jessie and Thurman Cook.
Surviving him are a daughter, Susan Ann Phillips, of Leesburg, Virginia; a son, Michael Wayne Cook, of Front Royal, Virginia; two sisters, Mary Ellen Proctor, of Macon, Georgia, and Estell Cook McLaughlin, of Pennsylvania; four brothers, Larry Cook, of Gainesville, Georgia, Roe Cook, of Stafford, Virginia, Roger Cook, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Burlin Cook, of Princeton; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildrlen.
Funeral services were held at VanReenen Funeral Home Monday by the Rev. Jerry Moore. Burial was in the Ruckman Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to Senior Citizens of Marlinton.

Thelma Alderman Brinkley

Thelma Alderman Brinkley, of Millboro, Virginia, died December 15, 2000, at the Hot Springs Hospital in Hot Springs, Virginia.
She was born on January 1, 1915, in Pocahontas County, the daughter of the late Clarence V. and Susan Woolridge Alderman.
Besides her parents, those preceding her in death were her husband, James E. Brinkley, five brothers, one sister, and one great-grandson.
She is survived by one son, Edgar Alan Brinkley, of Millboro; six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Alderman Quick, of Montvale, Virginia, and Elva Alderman Lineberry, of Buena Vista, Virginia; and one brother, Vern H. Alderman, of Delray.
Funeral services were held December 18 and burial was in Woodland Cemetery, Millboro.

Robert Louis Camisa

Robert Louis Camisa, age 55, of Fall Creek Road, Maynardville, Tennessee, died suddenly at his home on October 17, 2000, from a farm tractor accident.
He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a resident of Pocahontas County from 1946 until 1953.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Morris Camisa, of Maynardville; parents, Louis H. and Virginia D. Camisa, of Athens, Tennessee; brother, John E. Camisa, of Calhoun, Tennessee; sister, Virginia Ann Rogers, of Ten Mile, Tennessee; and two stepsons, Joseph F. McGowan, of Los Angeles, California, and John G. McGowan, of Atlanta, Georgia.

Eugene N. Cordes

Eugene Nicholas "Gene" Cordes, age 57, of 82 Manor Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, January 11, 2001, at his home.
Born May 29, 1943, in Newark, New Jersey, the son of the late Eldin Lee and Rose Theresa Breheny Green.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a petty officer and served during the Vietnam War. He was a second class Radioman. He served in the military from 1962-69.
He also worked for the Department of Defense, the City of Hagerstown, and the U.S. Park Service.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine "Tina" Grey Cordes, whom he married on March 10, 1966; four daughters, Gena Lanette Martinez, of Hagerstown, Terri Jean Pieper, of Waldorf, Maryland, Jacqueline Jeanette Cordes, of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Kelly Nicole Cordes, at home; one son, Nicholis Eugene Cordes, of Hagerstown; one sister, Peggy Lee Marshall, of Edgewater, Maryland; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday at the Minnieh Funeral Home, Hagerstown, by Pastor Jack Hill.
To help defray medical and funeral expenses, memorial contributions may be made to Ernestine Grey Cordes family.

Nancy M. Brooks

Nancy Marie Brooks, age 58, of Baltimore, Maryland, died Thursday, January 11, 2001, in St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness with cancer.
She was born August 25, 1942, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roby.
She was a member of the Middle River Baptist Church and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, Lyle Brooks; a son, Wayne Brooks; a daughter, Lisa Glenn; two sisters, Patty and Pam; four brothers, Bobby, Michael, Denny and Lynn; and three grandchildren, all of the Baltimore area.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 22, 1 p.m. at Middle River Baptist Church by Rev. Alan Rhea.
