Carl Jefferson Bennett
Carl Jefferson Bennett, age 61, of Frank, died Wednesday, August 22, 2001, at Davis Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Bennett was a factory packager in Baltimore and then worked for a plastic factory in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
He was born November 5, 1939, at Bartow, the son of the late Lester A. and Mervil Arbogast Bennett.
A sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
Surviving him are two daughters, Jane E. Spitver, of Harrisonburg, and Anita Robinson, of Afton, Virginia; a son, Carl Bennett, Jr., of Fishersville, Virginia; three sisters, Ellen Morrison, of Frank, Virginia Gragg and Carolyn Davis, both of Ravenna, Ohio; a brother, Allen Bennett, of Marlinton; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale by the Rev. William Vandevander. Burial was in the Lambert Cemetery.

Bernard "Bun" Hanna
Bernard "Bun" Hanna, age 71, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, August 25, 2001, at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor, Virginia.
Mr. Hanna was a retired mechanic and truck driver.
He was born December 13, 1929, at Wellsville, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Luther Kyle and Ina Mae Mitchell Hanna.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Susie Brown Hanna, and three sons, Jack Kyle, James Carl and John Paul "JP" Hanna.
Surviving him are a daughter, Jocelyn Hanna, of Frankford; sons, Jeff Hanna, of Fairlea, Joe Hanna, of Hillsboro, and Justin Hanna, of Renick; a sister, Berniece Baker, of Red Lion, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; he is also survived by Grace Hannah, of Hillsboro; two step-daughters, Blanche Graves, of Borrego Springs, California, Karen Manley, of Duck River, Tennessee; three stepsons, Dale Morrison, of Renick, Bobby Morrison, of Marlinton, and Elmer Morrison, of Beckley; fifteen step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Phyllis Cox, with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Donald Arnold Nicely
Donald Arnold "Mike" Nicely, age 71, of Boyer, died Monday, August 27, 2001, at home.
Mr. Nicely served 20+ years in the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged on April 30, 1968. He also was employed for 13 years at Howes Leather Company before retiring in 1983. He attended the Boyer Church of the Brethren.
Born March 23, 1930, in Boyer, he was the son of the late Edgar H. and Shasta Burner Nicely.
Two brothers, Boyd Nicely and Danny Nicely, are deceased.
Surviving him are his wife, Dora Mary Nicely, whom he married on September 24, 1952; a daughter, Shasta Owens, of Mt. Solon, Virginia; three sons, Donnie Nicely, of Boyer, James Nicely and John Nicely, both of Stafford, Virginia; two sisters, Nancy Sheets, of Arbovale, and Mary Ellen Wigal, of Parkersburg; two brothers, Roy Nicely, of Hahira, Georgia, and Lloyd Nicely, of Alexandria, Virginia; six grandsons, two granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a. m. in the Arbovale Cemetery by the Rev. David Rittenhouse
