Delbert Lewis Collins

Delbert Lewis Collins, 91, passed away March 19, 2002, in Foley, Alabama.
Mr. Collins was born on October 26, 1910, in Hosterman, the second of the six children of Adam and Lilly Lambert Collins.
He married Ethel Shrader, of Cass, April 17, 1933. She died five weeks before his passing. They had been married over 68 years.
Mr. Collins' sons, Jerald and Delbert "Sonny" Collins, also preceded him in death.
He was a Baptist.
Mr. Collins was a self-taught welder and an engineer at General Motors Technical Center on the design and research staff for over 20 years.
He was inducted into the Michigan Country and Western Music Hall of Fame in 1995.
He is survived by his sons, David, of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Douglas, of Oak Park, Michigan, and Darrell, of Ann Arbor, Michigan; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Fred Freeman. Mr. Collins was laid to rest in White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.

Harold G. Sayre

Harold G. Sayre, age 81, of Lewisburg, formerly of Hillsboro, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at Greenbrier Manor at Fairlea.
He was a retired moldmaker.
His wife, Deja Sayre, preceded him in death.
Surviving him are two daughters, Jeannie Sayre, of White Sulphur Springs, and Brenda (Joy) Dorsey, of Renick; two sons, Harold Gillman Sayre (Gil), of Sparkill, New York and Gary Sayre, of Lewisburg; brother, Guy Sayre, of Charleston; sister, Mildred, of Florida; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. Friday at VanReenen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Emmanuel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Merle L. Grogg

Merle L. Grogg, age 72, of Randolph, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002.
A native of Green Bank, he worked as a mechanic with United Parcel Service, retired from the Kent Public Schools as a bus mechanic in 1990, and was a member of Rolling Acres Christian Missionary Alliance Church. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Merle was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Shirley Ann Grogg, an infant daughter, five brothers, and one sister.
Surviving him are a daughter, Amy Grogg; brothers, Ray Grogg, Donald Grogg, and Forrest Grogg, Jr.; sister, Martha Foster, Sr., Dortha Shrader, Betty Ware, and Ruth Ann Mullenax; and two grandsons.
Services were held Sunday afternoon at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale by the Rev. David Rittenhouse. Burial followed at the Arbovale Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Rolling Acres Alliance Church.
