Howard H. Kellison
Howard H. Kellison, age 91, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital at Marlinton.
He was retired from the U.S. Forest Service.
Born August 18, 1910, he was a son of the late Jud and Nancy Hagy Kellison.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Dean Kellison.
Surviving him are a sister, Erma McClung, of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, James "Roe" Kellison, of Columbus, Ohio, and Elba Kellison, of Archdale, North Carolina.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg by the Rev. Jim Anderson, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro.

Michael David Hickson
Michael David Hickson, age 50, of North Carolina, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at the University of North Carolina.
He was a chef for many years and a truck driver.
Mr. Hickson was born October 5, 1951, at Marlinton, the son of Marie Burris Hickson and the late Robert Hickson.
His father and a sister, Melba Fitzgerald, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother; a son, Jamie Hickson; two sisters, Connie Smith, of Bridgeview, Illilnois, and Katherine Barker, of Dunmore; and three brothers, Frank Hickson, of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, Zane Hickson, of Cass, and Kim Hickson, of Green Bank.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 3, at 11 a.m. at the Arbovale Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale.

Arlie L. Shinaberry
Arlie L. Shinaberry, age 78, died at Royal Oak, Michigan, on July 8, 2002.
Mr. Shinaberry served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was born at Clover Lick June 4, 1924, the son of the late Bedford and Drucilla Shinaberry.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Josephine Corso, and two sisters, Elsie Napier and Edith Dilley.
Surviving him are a stepson, William Corso, and two step-granddaughters; five brothers, Alvie Shinaberry, of North East, Maryland, Gay Shinaberry, of Monoca, Pennsylvania, Sterl Shinaberry, of Vero Beach, Florida, Arnold Shinaberry, of Stony Bottom, and Carlon Shinaberry, of Frank; two sisters, Edna Irvine, of Richwood, and Eva Reinard, of Pulaski, New York.
Services were held at the Spaulding and Curtin Funeral Home in Ferndale, Michigan. Entombment was at the Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, Michigan.

Jack Dempson McLaughlin
Jack Dempson McLaughlin, age 75, of Hot Springs, Virginia, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fisherville, Virginia.
Mr. McLaughlin worked for T. K. Ellis and Carl Behrens until his retirement in 1989; after retirement he worked for the United States Forest Service. He was a member of Healing Springs Baptist Church.
The son of the late Vernon Pole and Grace Friel McLaughlin, he was born July 22, 1927, at Mountain Grove, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Vernon Tate McLaughlin, James Lee McLaughlin, and Harper McLaughlin, and two sisters, Edith Price McLaughlin and Virginia Beard.
Mr. McLaughlin is survived by two sons, Danny McLaughlin, of Hillsboro, Richard McLaughlin, of Warm Springs, Virginia, and Dreama Mines, of Plant City, Florida; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at McLaughlin Funeral Home in Hot Springs by the Revs. Tom Stanley and Randy White. Burial was in the Union Chapel Cemetery.
