Mabel R. Higgins
Mabel Ruby Reynolds Higgins, 87, of Amherst, Ohio, died June 13, 2003, at Golden Acres Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on April 26, 1916, the daughter of Stokes and Margaret Bradley Reynolds, in Marlinton, where she was raised and attended school. She moved to Amherst in 1947.
Mrs. Higgins worked for the former Steel Stamping Company and the Mascon Toy Factory in Lorain for more than 25 years.
She was a member of South Amherst First United Methodist Church, the Amherst Hospital Auxiliary, where she was a volunteer for many years, and the Jolly Sixties.
Survivors include two sons, Sidney R. Mann, of Austin, Texas, and John R. Higgins, of Elizabeth, Indiana; two daughters, Sharon Ellis, of Auburn, California, and Harriet Finnegan, of Vermilion, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Edward Mann; her second husband, Harry Higgins; one son, James Mann in 2001; two infant children; two brothers, Robert and Randolph Reynolds; and two sisters, Lucille Johnson and Opal Sims.
Funeral service was held on Monday at the Hempel Funeral Home in Amherst with the Rev. Gary Lunsford officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in South Amherst.

Bobby Gene Barrett, Sr.
Bobby Gene Barrett, Sr., age 67, of Keedysville, Maryland, died at his home on Sunday, June 15, 2003.
Born in Spice, he was the son of the late Mitchell Jesse and Viola Pearl Wickline Barrett, of Hillsboro.
He attended Church of God Universal in Hagerstown.
Mr. Barrett was a Pipefitter and Steamfitter with Local #769 and retired from the City of Brunswick, Maryland, in 1997 as a waste water operator.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Margaret May Hendrickson Barrett; a daughter, Darlene K. Barrett, of Keedysville; five sons, Dr. Bobby G. Barrett, Jr., of Martinsburg, Mitchell H. Barrett, of Hagerstown, Darrell O. Barrett, of Frederick, Maryland, David L. Barrett, of Brunswick, Maryland, William C. Barrett, of Keedysville; a sister, Martha Jane Barrett Zell, of Eagle Rock, Virginia; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, June 19, at 1 p.m. in Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, by Pastor Alvin Craig. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
