Mary H. McKenney


Mary H. McKenney, age 83, of Warren, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Hospice of the Valley's Hospice House in Poland, Ohio.

Born October 2, 1927, at Warren, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Nora Eagan Ketter.

Mary attended Leavittsburg High School and worked at numerous markets and theaters in the area prior to her marriage to Hubert H. McKenney July 30, 1960. They celebrated their golden anniversary last year.

A lifetime Warren area resident, she was a member of St. Pius X Church.

Mary enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as traveling, fishing, flowers, baking and word puzzles. She was known for her generosity and kind heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles and Paul Ketterer and Louis Ketter, Jr.; and a sister, Rose Lawrence.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Bulvony, of Howland, Ohio; a daughter, Nora F. McCombs, of Wilmington, North Carolina; two sons, Kevin D. McKenney, and wife, Peggy, of Champion, Ohio, and David McKenney, of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren, Chuck McCombs, and fianc?, Kimmie, and Cassie McCombs, all of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Hunter B. McKenney, of Champion, Ohio; a great-grandson, Trenton McCombs, of Leavittsburg, Ohio; mother-in-law, Lottie McKenney, of Marlinton; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was February 18 at Roberts-Clark Chapel with Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating. Interment was in All Souls Cemetery.
