Ida Clara Carpenter
Ida Clara Kerr Carpenter, age 91, of Dunmore, died Friday, March 11, 2011, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital.
Born February 27, 1920, at Dunmore, she was a daughter of the late Renick and Annie Elizabeth Lowe Kerr.
Ida was a member of the Dunmore United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. "Buck" Carpenter; three sisters, Daisy Kramer, Stella Jones and Mae Griffin; and a brother, Teddy T. Kerr.
She is survived by two daughters, Manota Hively, and husband, Don, of Dunmore, and Jane Gordon, and husband, Ronald, of Green Bank; a son, James Carpenter, and wife, Peggy, of Dunmore; six grandchildren, Curtis Hively, and wife, Tammy, Nida Hively Mullins, and husband, Steve, William "Bill" Carpenter, and wife, Hope, Josh Carpenter, and wife, Nora, Kelley Salvati, and husband, Jud, and Holly Taylor, and husband, Allen; six great-grandchildren, Anthony Salvati, Vincent Salvati, Jarret Taylor, Alexa Taylor, Eli Carpenter and Luke Carpenter; and numerous friends.
Family will receive friends Sunday, March 13, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. Funeral service is Monday, March 14, 1 p.m. at the Dunmore United Methodist Church with Rev. David Rittenhouse officiating. Interment will be in the Dunmore Cemetery.
