James Dale Pyles, age 95, of Beaver Creek, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at his home.

Born September 16, 1915, at Beaver Creek, he was a son of the late Joseph Samuel and Mary Ann Virginia Church Pyles.

Dale was retired from Watoga State Park and was a member of the Cummings Creek Victory Chapel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Pyles; six sisters; and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Dortha Pearl Underwood Pyles; a daughter, Sylvia Partington, of Clermont, Florida; three sons, James Pyles and Thomas Pyles, both of Marlinton, and Eddie Pyles, of Suffolk, Virginia; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Thursday, March 17, from 6 -9 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home. Funeral service is Friday, March 18, 1 p.m. at Cummings Creek Victory Chapel with Pastor Norman Lee Alderman officiating. Interment will be in the Pyles Promiseland Cemetery, Beaver Creek.
