Kate Hise, age 85, of Hightown, Virginia, died Monday, March 28, 2011, at her home.

Born January 16, 1926, at Hightown, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Charles Wilbur and Maude Regina Simmons Moyers.

Kate was a member of the Hightown United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She loved the outdoors, especially working alongside her husband and son.

She was a very caring person who treated everyone like family.

On December 29, 1951, she married Sterling Richard "Horn" Hise, who preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Bob Moyers, Harry Moyers, John Moyers and Jesse Moyers; and a sister, Blanche Gunnoe.

She is survived by a son, Stephen Hise, of Hightown, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service is Wednesday, March 30, 2 p.m at the Hightown United Methodist Church with Revs. Andre Crummett and Richard Gibson officiating. Interment will be in Hightown Cemetery.
