Joseph R. Jonese, age 83, of Arbovale, died Saturday, April 23, 2011.

Born September 25, 1927, at Lander, Wyoming, he was a son of the late Clarence and Pauline Jonese.

Joseph was a 21-year veteran of the United States Army. ?He served combat tours in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from Pocahontas County High School after 19 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, June Crist Jonese; two sons, David Jonese, and wife, Cheryl, and Mark Jonese, and wife, Jan; and seven grandchildren, all of Green Bank; a brother, Mickey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

At his request, Joe will be cremated and his ashes will be spread in his home state of Wyoming. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
