Anna Lorraine Adkison Baxter, age 82, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Buckeye.

Born March 19, 1929, near Seebert, she was a daughter of the late Thrasher and Fannie Williamson Adkison.

Anna was a retired registered nurse and a member of the West Virginia Nursing Association.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. Baxter; a son, John A. Baxter; two sisters, Genny Hunt and Jeanette Stanfield; and three brothers, Dewey Adkison, Bill Adkison and Woodrow Adkison.

She is survived by two daughters, Judith Lee Baxter, of Chicago, Illinois, and Lorraine Baxter, of Lewisburg; and two sons, James E. Baxter, of Salisbury, North Carolina, and John B. Baxter, of Hillsboro.

Family will receive friends Friday, April 29, from 6 -9 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home. Funeral service is Saturday, April 30, 2 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Moore officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to PMH Ambulance Fund, Pocahontas County Humane Society and the American Cancer Society.
