Earl Edward Allen, age 67, of Hot Springs, Virginia, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at his home.

Born January 31, 1944, in Allgehany County, Virginia, he was a son of the late John Wesley and Helen Inez Wilson Allen.

Earl worked in the culinary department at the Homestead Resort. He attended Piney Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Allen, Hamp Allen and Willie Allen; and a sister, Maggie.

He is survived by three children, Antoni Pondexter, Patricia Fields and Stanley Spriggs; two brothers, Robert Allen and Theodore Allen; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Saturday, April 30, 6 -8 p.m. at McLaughlin and Young Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Virginia. Graveside service is Sunday, May 1, 2 p.m. at the Brownsburg Cemetery in Marlinton.
