Ruth Maggie Hall Dean, age 82, of Hillsboro, died Friday, May 13, 2011, at the home of her daughter, Lynn Atkinson, in New Haven.

Born May 10, 1929, at Algoma, she was a daughter of the late Winton Maston and Maude Frances Shumate Hall.

Ruth was a homemaker. She loved cooking and her family and friends. She was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Samuel Lee Dean; four sisters, Mazie Burks, Mable Byrd, Elsie Watkins and Vertie Hall; and a brother, Woodrow Hall.

She is survived by three daughters, Dreama Schneider, and husband, Roy, of New Martinsville, Lynn Atkinson, and husband, Tim, of New Haven, and Paula Dilley, of Parkersburg; a son, Michael Dean, and wife, Pam, of Huttonsville; two sisters, Claudine Mitchem and Irene Anderson, both of Bluefield; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was May 16 at VanReenen Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Carr and Rick Barkley officiating. Interment was in Ruckman Cemetery at Buckeye.
