Regina Sue Underwood Sharp Dumire
Regina Sue Underwood Sharp Dumire, age 102, of Marlinton, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Brier Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Ronceverte.
Born March 5, 1909, at Beaver Creek, she was a daughter of the late Lanty and Icy Alderman Underwood.
Regina was a homemaker and attended the Central Union United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Dolpha Sharp and Carl Dumire, a son, Hubert J. Sharp, step-sons, Harold Dumire and Burl "Buddy" Dumire, two brothers, Calvin Underwood and Edgar Underwood, a sister, Jewell Simmons Carter, and two infant sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Luna B. Wilfong and Margaret Louise Carpenter, of Marlinton; five sons, Lewis E. Sharp, Dharl L. Sharp and Robert Y. Sharp, all of Marlinton, Lowell A. Sharp, of Cowen, and Thomas E. Sharp, of Beverly; one step-son, Harry W. Dumire, of Muskego, Wisconsin; a sister, Hazel Sherbs, of Marlinton; 33 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at VanReenen Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday, June 26, at 1 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral home with Pastor Robert Mann officiating. Interment in Beaver Creek Cemetery near Huntersville.
