Lawrence Lee Waggoner

Lawrence Lee "Wag" Waggoner died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at his home in Red Bank, Tennessee.

Born October 30, 1929, at Bridgeport, Illinois, he was a son of the late Joy and Nannie Waggoner.

Lawrence spent his childhood in Bridgeport. He served with the United States Air Force in Korea.

In 1953, he married Eleanor Shields, formerly, of Stony Bottom.

In 1958, the family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he worked for IBM for more than 30 years. After retirement, he and Eleanor designed and built their dream home in Summerland Key, Florida, where they enjoyed wintering for more than 20 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor; three children, Jackie Wallace, Gwen Rose, and husband, Les, and John Waggoner, and wife, Suzanne; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three brothers, Jerald Waggoner, Carl Waggoner and Stanley Waggoner.

Funeral service was at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrance, Tennessee. Interment was in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
