Howard Jackson Moore
Howard Jackson "Jack" Moore, 72, of Hughesville, Maryland, died Saturday, August 13, 2011, at his home.
Born September 29, 1938, in Cass, he was a son of the late Jess William Moore and Linda Mary Plyler Moore.
Jack enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1956. He moved to Maryland for work in 1962, where he met his wife of 48 years, and made his home in Hughesville, Maryland. He began his career as a sawmill worker, and later became a metal fabricator. He had a passion for welding and making ornamental iron railings and worked in this field until his retirement in 2002. He was adored by his wife, children, and grandchildren. His hobbies included woodworking, maintaining a beautiful yard, working on tractors, cars and trucks, and, most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. He kept his sense of humor all the way to the end and was famous for his quick wit and the ability to make you smile. During difficult times he was always reassuring others that "it will be all right."
In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by his brother, William Thomas Moore, and sisters, Ernestine Barbara Buzzard and Marion Maxine Elza.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Moore; children, Alta Pauleen Brewer of Hughesville, Maryland, Howard Jackson Moore, Jr., of Hollywood, Maryland, and Kathy Jean Pennington, of West Virginia; brothers, Edward Eugene Moore, of Miami, Florida, and Harold Douglas Moore, of Leavittsburg, Ohio; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family received friends for Jack's Life Celebration on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P. A. in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 with Pastor Keith Corrick officiating. Interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, Maryland.
