Alan W. McCarty, age 56, of Frost died Tuesday, August 30, 2011.

Born May 30, 1955, he was a son of the late Dewey Samuel and Goldie Sharp McCarty.

Alan was a lifelong resident of Frost, a graduate of Pocahontas County High School, a farmer and was a retired foreman for the West Virginia Department of Highways in Green Bank.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel McCarty, and an infant brother, John Wayne McCarty.

Alan is survived by one brother, Ronald McCarty, and wife, Barbara, of Frost, and a host of friends and neighbors.

Graveside service was Friday, September 2, 2011, at Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton with Revs. Dave Rittenhouse and Robert Shields officiating.
