Gwendolyn Faye Summerfield
Gwendolyn Faye Summerfield, age 82, of Elkins, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011, in Davis Memorial Hospital Hospital.
Born August 28, 1929, at Harding, she was a daughter of the late Porter Moore and Barnette Josephine Skidmore.
Mrs. Summerfield was a homemaker, a member of the H. W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Neven Leo Summerfield, and two sisters, Joyce Ann Stewart and Lorraine Hope Carver.
Mrs. Summerfield is survived by three children, James Michael Summerfield, and wife, Nancy Jo, Nancy Summerfield Helmick, and husband, Dennis, all of Elkins, and Patricia Summerfield Wamsley, and husband, Samuel, of Mill Creek; three grandsons, Matthew Carl Summerfield, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Adam Gray Coonts, of Coshoctin, Ohio, and Jason Leo Coonts, of Elkins; one great-grandson, Nevin David Summerfiled, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a sister, Jill Pennington, and husband, Roy, of Buckhannon; and one brother, Jack Moore, and wife, Nadine, of Elkins.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 10, 2011, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
Funeral service will at11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dave Bickel and Rev. Rick Cooper officiating. Interment in Little Arlington Cemetery near Elkins.
