Emmett Gerald Bailey died Friday, September 9, 2011.

Born August 5, 1943, at Bluefield, he was a son of the late Wayne and Florence Bailey.

Emmett was an honor graduate of Marlinton High School. He attended West Point Military Academy, Concord College, West Virginia University and Kent State University obtaining a degree in psychology. He worked as a real estate appraiser in La Grande, Oregon, before retiring.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Brandon; and his wonderful friend and companion, Ann Eskridge.

He is survived by his son, Demian Alfred Wayne Bailey, and wife, Tiffany, and two grandchildren, Zoey and Aaron, all of Corvallis, Oregon; two sisters, Janice Bailey Nicowski, and husband, Hank, of Dunkrik, Maryland, and Key West, Florida, and Cheryl Ann Bailey Morrison, and husband, Robert, of Danville, Virginia; Eskridge's son, Todd Cleek, and wife, Debbie, of Portland, Oregon; a niece, Rebecca Harris, and family, of Goochland, Virginia; and a nephew, Michael McDuffie, and family, of Charlotte, North Carolina.

A remembrance gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, October 8, at La Grande, Oregon.
