Bruce C. Galford, age 85, of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, died Monday, September 19, 2011, at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, in Coudersport.

Born October 1, 1925, at Marlinton, he was a son of the late Henry G. and Lucy V. Waugh Galford.

Bruce was a graduate of Marlinton High School. He was self-employed logging contractor before retirement.

He was a member of the Keating Summit Methodist Church and a member of the American Association of Retired Persons. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and most outdoor activities. He also enjoyed watching football.

On February 5, 1972, he married Carol R. Shelley, in Eldred, Pennsylvania.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Denny Galford, Elza Galford and Paul Galford; and a sister, Wilma Yorns.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bruce C. Galford, Jr., of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Marie Haefner, and husband, Robert, of Winfield, Pennsylvania, and Abby Galford, of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania; three granddaughters, Kaitlyn Haefner, Laura Heafner and Erica Heafner; a brother, French G. Galford, of Bushnell, Florida; five step-sons, Donovan McLaughlin, and wife, Mary, of Keating Summit, Pennsylvania, Dennis Wilfong, and wife, Connie, Ronald Wilfong, and wife, Tina and Robert Wilfong, all of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, and William Wilfong, and wife, Sharon, of Rockland, Illinois; a step-daughter, Debra Appleby, and husband, Marlin, of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania; several step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was September 22 at Switzer Funeral Home in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, with Rev. J. T. Madison officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Port Allegany.
