James Lewis Tyree, age 77, of Marlinton, died Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Buckeye.

Born January 4, 1934, at Marlinton, he was a son of the late James Andrew and Gladys Arbogast Tyree.

James was a retired lab technician for a dairy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three infant sisters.

He is survived by two daughters, Diane Hawk, of Waldorf, Maryland, and Christine Tyree, of Stafford, Virginia; a son, James L. "Butch" Tyree, III, of Estes Park, Colorado; two sisters, Sylvia Woodhouse and Virginia Burgess, both of Marlinton; a brother, Orman Tyree, of Alexandria, Virginia; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Family will receive friends Saturday, October 15, from 7 -9 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home. Funeral service is Sunday, October 16, 2 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Goldizen officiating. Internment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
