Jessica Halki O'Brien

Jessica Rose Halki O'Brien, age 31, of Bridgewater, Virginia, passed away Friday, October 28, 2011.

Born March 13, 1980, at Morgantown, she was a daughter of Roseanne Theresa Zeni, of Buckeye, and Thomas Kim Halki, of Greenville.

Jessica spent most of her childhood in Renick. She was a graduate of Greenbrier East High School, Marshall University and Old Dominion University. She was a reading specialist at Spotswood Elementary School in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

She was full of life, laughter and compassion. She was a beautiful person and mother who was faithfully dedicated to her son, family and friends. She loved to read, travel, be outdoors and most importantly, spend time laughing and enjoying life with her son. She and her sister, Theresa, were inseparable and there is no greater love than theirs.

Jessica will be forever missed by her son, mother, father, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Dr. John "Jack" Halki and Joyce Phillips.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her beloved son, Keegan William O'Brien; Keegan's father, William Kenney O'Brien, of Staunton, Virginia; step-mother, Elaine Halki, of Greenville; best friend and loving sister, significant other and nephew, Theresa Marie Halki, Joshua Randall Daniel, Noah Joshua Daniel, all of Morgantown; grandparents, Steve and Nettie Zeni, Jr., of Morgantown; aunts, Jann Whitehair, of Weston, Kathy Zeni, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Shellie Rosenberger, of Terra Alta; an uncle, Rick Whitehair, of Philippi; cousins, Ricky Whitehair, and family, of Cumberland, Maryland, Luke Whitehair, of Glenville, Jason Alfonso, and family, of Vero Beach, Florida, Tyler Dowden, of Boyonton Beach, Florida, Melissa, Brent, Jeremy and Brandon Rosenberger, all of Morgantown; Keegan's grandparents, Kevin and Anne O'Brien, of Suffolk, Virginia; Keegan's uncle and aunt, Joe and Lita O'Brien, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; lifelong, devoted friend and sister, Autumn Armbrester, of Ocean City, Maryland; and the most caring, loving friend and sister ever, Joy Carpenter, of Lexington, Virginia.

A celebration of Jessica's joyous life is Saturday, November 5, 1 - 4 p.m. at her mother's home in Buckeye.
