Bernard W. Raines

Brenard W. Raines, age 73, of Circleville, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Born January 11, 1938, at Dry Run, he was a son of the late Bob and Nola Hinkle Raines.

Bernard was a 1957 graduate of Circleville High School. He worked for Lockhart Construction in Ohio, was a timberman, drove a lime truck for Russell Lawrence and retired from Interstate Hardwoods in 2000. He was a member of North Dry Run United Methodist Church and a past member of the Circleville Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobbie Raines; and a sister, Leah Belle Warner.

He is survived by two daughters, Lois Waggy, and husband, David, and Anita Huffman, and husband, Bill, all of Franklin; two sons, Marlin Raines, and wife, Janice, of Circleville, and Danny Raines, and wife, Kacey, of Harrisonburg, Virginia; a sister, Wanda Delores Rexrode, of Moyers, nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Friday, November 4, 6 -8 p.m. at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral service is Saturday, November 5, 11 a.m. at Kimble Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Kile officiating. Interment will be in Hinkle Cemetery on Snowy Mountain Road.
