Green Bank Art “strip mall” has that
With four distinctively different stores, the Green Bank Art “strip mall” has the answer for your every gift need.
Green Bank Gallery
The Green Bank Gallery is a cooperative of artists whose work range from photographs and paintings to baskets and jewelry. The gallery also boasts locally-written books and an album by local musicians The Elk River Ramblers.
The artists all chip in and work at the gallery, so you never know who you’ll meet when you stop by.
The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Outback Primitives, owned and operated by Lori Warner and Pam Mynes, is just that – a store of primitive decorations, including country crafts, candles, dolls and framed artwork. Just in time for Christmas, the front room of the store is chock full of Christmas decorations for indoors and out.
The store is open Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Green Bank Art Center
The Green Bank Art Center, operated by Kay Gillispie, is another cooperative of local artists. The center, which also offers art classes, has jewelry, quilts, furniture, watercolor paintings and more – perfect for the art enthusiast on your list.
The center is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Off Road Art
At the end of the “strip mall,” the new kid on the block is Off Road Art, owned and operated by Laura Ellis. The shop has a great collection of arts and crafts, like knitted and crocheted items, recycled or upcycled items and jewelry and fused glass pieces made by Ellis herself.
Be sure to check out the spinning-top table. The top of the table rotates to reveal hidden compartments with unexpected treasures.
Store hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
