Durbin: $10 gift certificate for Kinder's Market
Durbin residents: complete a survey and receive a $10 gift certificate for Kinder's Market! Email Judith Fuller at jfuller@almostheavenhabitat.org to get a survey. Details below.
Hello all,
Yesterday evening (Saturday 4/13) a community meeting was held in Durbin at the BFD fire hall. The meeting was organized by Judith Fuller, Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative Coordinator for Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity in Durbin. The meeting was facilitated by David Cooper and Michelle Connor of Habitat for Humanity and Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity.
It was good to see many Durbin residents in attendance. The meeting presented the results from surveys collected in Durbin to date (we need more!). The surveys asked residents several questions about what was best in Durbin, what was in need of improvement, quality of life, and so on. Key concerns expressed were job creation, supporting local business, attracting new families to live and stay in Durbin, and revitalizing Main Street.
To date, about 56% of residents have responded to the survey. Habitat for Humanity is trying to reach an 80% participation rate, which is required in order for the survey to be included in national statistics of rural community studies by Habitat for Humanity.
If you complete a survey, you'll receive a $10 gift certificate to use at Kinder's Market in Durbin. This is a great way to help shape the future of Durbin, as well as to support your local grocery store!
Please email Judith Fuller at jfuller@almostheavenhabitat.org for a survey.
