Just a quick update to shout out how thankful and proud we are of two of our 219 Americorps. Emily Newton, and Ellie Lee-Wasson. Emily and Ellie were among many local volunteers this past week working to cook and deliver food to families across Pocahontas County who were without food, water and electricity. They were working at the Pretty Penny Cafe in Hillsboro, with help and supplies from Fema and the Red Cross to help feed at least 3,200 people! More meals to go! You girls rock!! The Pretty Penny Cafe, for those who don't know, is located in an old general store in Historic downtown Hillsboro, and one of our favorite local restaurants along US 219: The Seneca Trail.
