PMH Lifeline

Pocahontas Memorial Hospital is going one step further than just encouraging its patients to develop healthier lifestyles.  The employees are setting an example themselves, and they are inviting the public to join with them.

The following is a list of people and the times of their activities.  Feel free and encouraged to join them.

Rose Hamons will jog down Duncan Road and walk back up at 7:15 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in September, as well as September 3, 13, 21, 27 and 28.
If you would like to join her for this hike, meet her at 7:15 p.m. in the ER parking lot at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital. You may also call her at 304-799-7400 Ext. 1047 so she will be expecting you. Keep in mind that if she gets busy at work you might have to wait a few minutes.

Yvette Rider, of the Wellness Committee, will walk one mile up the Greenbrier River Trail and back at 6 p.m. September 4, 11 and 18.

She will start at the parking lot on Ninth Street near the trail in Marlinton. Please feel free to bring your kids and/or dogs. Yvette will have her girls, and most of the time the little one will ride her bike. Feel free to call Yvette at 304-799-7370 if you have any questions.

Kathy Irvine will walk one mile up the Greenbrier River Trail and back at 6:15 p.m. every Wednesday evening. She will start at the ninth Street parking lot in Marlinton. Feel free to call her at 304-799-7400 Ext. 1040 or on her cell phone, 304-646-3257, if you would like to walk with her.

“We would love for you to come out and join us,” Rider said. “Having someone to talk to makes the time go by much faster and it is more enjoyable. We could use more people to commit to leading a walk.”

If interested, please call Rider at 304-799-7370 (H) or at the PMH X-ray department, 304-799-7400 Ext. 1305.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to lead a walk and to the ones who have decided to make a difference in their health.
