Master Gardener sign-up
The WVU Extension Service is now taking sign-ups for the West Virginia Master Gardener Training Course which will be held this spring.  Each of the 10 classes will last approximately three hours for a total of 30 hours of classroom training.  The course schedule will be announced following sign-up.  We require 10 participants to offer the course. Cost for the course will be $75.  Sign-up deadline will be Friday, February 1.  If you would like to sign-up or like more information please call the WVU Extension Office at 304-799-4852.

2013 Farm Opportunities Day Conference
The Farm Opportunities Day Conference will be held Saturday, January 26, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Glenville State College’s Mollohan Community Center
Farm producers, new farmers, FFA and 4-H members, along with other young ag-enthusiasts are encouraged to attend this one-day intensive training to highlight market demand and enterprise expansion opportunities for West Virginia farm producers. Farm Opportunities Day brings together industry experts, ag lenders, and local farmers to address region-specific needs in the industry.
 Workshop topics include: Value Added Animal Production and Marketing, Season Extension and Institutional Marketing, Farm Business Management, and Risk Management. The cost to register is $20. Limited Resource Scholarships are available. Youth age 18 and under may attend for free.
