'Love Your Heart' fun lunch
Go Red on Friday, February 1! Everyone is invited to attend a covered dish fun lunch on February 1 from noon to 1 p.m. at the McClintic Library conference room. Please wear red and bring a covered dish of healthy red food to share and help promote heart health. Enjoy an hour of fellowship, good food, fun and learn life -aving facts about heart attack symptoms and a heart smart lifestyle. Please call the Extension Office by 10 a.m. Friday if you plan to attend.
Master Gardener Trainee Sign-up
The WVU Extension Service is now accepting sign-ups for this spring's West Virginia Master Gardener Training Course. Each of the 10 classes will be approximately three hours long for a total of 30 hours of classroom training. The course schedule will be announced following sign-up. We require 10 participants to offer the course. Cost for the course will be $75. Sign-up deadline will be Friday February. For more information call the WVU Extension Office at 304-799-4852.
Robotics Challenge
This year's state Robotics Challenge is scheduled for Saturday, February 23, at Jackson's Mill and is open to 4-Hers of all ages. Four-Hers interested in participating should contact the Extension Office, 304-799-4952, by February 1.
Frozen Food Sale
The 4-H Spring Frozen Food Sale is now in progress. All orders are due in the Extension Office by February 26. The order form can be obtained by calling the Extension Office at 304-799-4852. The frozen food sale is being sponsored by the Pocahontas County 4-H Leaders' Association.
Dramas, Fairs & Festivals Applications
Grant applications for the Dramas, Fairs, and Festivals grants for this quarter are due in the Extension Office by February 1. The Dramas, Fairs and Festivals Committee will meet on Monday, February 11, at 10:30 a.m. in the Extension Office. If you have any questions or need an application form, please call the office at 340-799-4852.
State Dance Camp
All 4-Hers in grades six (6) and up received a post card concerning State Dance Camp at Jackson's Mill. Online registration deadline is February 1, and all 4-Hers registering also need to call the Extension Office 304-799-4852 before February 1.
Pocahontas County Farmers Market
The Pocahontas County Farmers Market will hold an informational meeting for anyone interested in participating as a vendor for the 2013 market season. Market locations this season will include Marlinton, Green Bank and Linwood/Big Springs. The meeting will be held at the Green Bank Library Tuesday, February 5, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
