2010 Outstanding Volunteer 4-H Leaders

Morgan and Kim McComb were recently honored as the 2010 Outstanding 4-H Leaders for Pocahontas County at the County 4-H/FFA Ham, Bacon and Egg Sale . They are actively involved as 4-H project leaders at both the club and county levels. Kim shares new ideas with the 4-H members as she organizes numerous wildflower walks, craft projects and cooking lessons. Morgan is a farmer-at-heart and serves as project leader for most of the livestock and poultry projects in his local club, the Beaver Creek Beavers. He is a valued source of information for all county 4-Hers and their parents as they prepare for the County Ham, Bacon, and Egg Show each year.

Community involvement is also a high priority for this husband/wife team. Some of their 4-H community service projects include Adopt-A-Highway, Adopt-A-Park, cleaning a local cemetery and organizing a community flowerbed project. With full-time jobs, four active children, and a farm to care for, Morgan and Kim know the importance of juggling time, family and community. Yet they are always willing to share their time and talents with the youth of Pocahontas County.
