The average high temperature was 74.6 degrees and the average low temperature was a cool 52.9 degrees. The mean of 63.8 degrees was 0.6 degrees above normal. The highest temperature was 84 degrees on June 9. June 4 and June 15 had the lowest temperature at 41 degrees. Rainfall totaled .66 of an inch in the first 16 days of June. The last two weeks produced 2.74 inches for a total of 3.40 inches. That is 0.29 of an inch below normal. Rainfall for the first half of the year is an ample 26.43 inches. National Weather Service declared that West Virginia had its wettest spring on record. June had nine days of recorded thunder. That brings the yearly total to 32 boomer days. That is on pace for a possible record this year.
