Snowshoe Mountain Career Center to hold October job fair
The Snowshoe Mountain Career Center is dedicated to helping applicants find positions within the community and helping employers find great local applicants Therefore, we will begin hosting annual job fairs for the community and area businesses.
What is a job fair?
A job fair is a convenient way to make one on one contact with several different employers all at once. It saves applicants the hassle of going to each business to fill out an application and possibly not be able to speak to anyone. At a job fair, not only do you get to meet with several different businesses, you will also get to meet the manager or the recruiter for the company.
How can the applicant prepare for the job fair?
You should treat a job fair just like a job interview. Come dessed for success, be prepared to answer questions about your work history, and have a r�sum� on hand. Recruiters will want to talk to you about strengths and weaknesses along with what type of job you are seeking
How can the employer prepare for the job fair?
As an employer seeking qualified applicants you will want to know what positions you have available or know what openings will become available in the near future. You will want to bring plenty of applications and job descriptions if you have them available. Also, you may want to bring information on services and or benefits that you provide.
Snowshoe Mountain Career Center will hold a Job Fair on Wednesday, October 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. exclusive to Snowshoe Mountain employers. Snowshoe will be hiring for seasonal and year-round positions within the company. Some of the available jobs include retail, housekeeping, food and beverage and lift attendants. Managers from each department will be available for face-to-face interviews. A community Job Fair will be held on Wednesday, October 12, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Career Center. Several local businesses have already confirmed attendance.
