Cecil Owen Garretson, age 67,ﾠ ofﾠ Staffordﾠ County,ﾠ Vir-ginia, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Garretson was an independent contractor and very hard worker in the construction business.ﾠ He was a life member of the Church of God and helped start Stafford Church of God and Spotsylvania Church of God.ﾠ He also launched the Sunday school program at Fredericks-burg Church of God and King George Church of God.

He was raised in Pocahontas County.

Surviving are his wife, Rosella Garretson; two daughters, Denna Garcia and Catherine Haugh; one son, Troy Garretson; four sisters, Opal Workman, Bernice Meadows, Nancy Puffenbarger, and Maggie Morgan; five brothers, Donzie Garretson, Elize Garretson, Estil Garretson, Raymond Garretson, and Jimmy Garretson; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Mr. Garretson was the son of the late Rev. Estil and Clara Garretson.ﾠﾠ He also was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Garretson.

Funeral was held Saturday morning, November 18, at Stafford Church of God, followed by interment in Stafford Memorial Park.
