Owned by Barbara Ulbrich, the two-cabin facility is nestled in the hillside of Dunmore on Laurel Run Road.

Ulbrich has owned the land since 1989 but didnﾒt build the cabins until 2009.

ﾓMy son, who joined the Army, told me ﾑwhen I get back from Iraq, Iﾒm going to build a cabin on the mountain,ﾒﾔ Ulbrich said. ﾓHe didnﾒt make it back, so I built the cabins in his memory.ﾔ

The Bear Paw and The Fishinﾒ Hole have all the amenities of a high-end hotel with the rustic appeal of a log cabin.

ﾓWe provide everything you need including linens, towels and firewood,ﾔ Ulbrich said. ﾓWe are also pet friendly with an extra charge for cleaning.ﾔ

Ulbrich goes out of her way to make sure her guests have a unique stay in her cabins with custom-made gift baskets.

ﾓI had a couple come here for their anniversary and I found out that they didnﾒt drink alcohol, so I made them a basket with sparkling cider and wine glasses for their celebration,ﾔ she said.

The Bear Paw sleeps six in two bedrooms with queen-sized beds and a full-size sleeper sofa. The kitchen is fully equipped and the living room has a wood burning stove for those cold Pocahontas County nights.

Enjoy a nice evening sitting on the front porch, on the second floor balcony or around a fire pit in the backyard.

Smoking is not allowed in either cabin.
