Magistrate Court - December 31, 2009

According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases.

In Magistrate Kathy Beverage's court:

Jerry Wayne Curry, 48, of Marlinton, pleaded guilty December 22 to a charge of driving under the influence. He was assessed a $250 fine, $209.50 in court costs, a $55 DUI fee, a $25 arrest fee and sentenced to 72 hours in jail with credit for time served.

Larken Dale Dean, 45, of Hillsboro, pleaded guilty December 22 to a charge of driving under the influence. He was assessed a $250 fine, $209.50 in court costs, a $55 DUI fee, a $40.40 arrest fee and sentenced to 72 hours in jail with credit for time served.

Zachary Allan Bennett, 20, of Mill Creek, pleaded guilty December 22 to driving under the influence under the age of 21 and consuming alcohol under the age of 21. He was assessed a $200 fine, $339 in court costs, a $55 DUI fee, a $25 arrest fee and sentenced to 72 hours in jail with credit for time served.

Lew Means, 52, of Arbovale, waived his preliminary hearing for a charge of delivery of a controlled substance. His bond was transferred to circuit court.

Kevin Reed McCoy, 38, of Renick, was sentenced December 22 for charges of driving under the influence, driving suspended/revoked for DUI, registration violation, no proof of insurance and destruction of property. He pleaded guilty to all charges on October 5. He was assessed a $70 fine, $817.50 in court costs, a $55 DUI fee, a $25 arrest fee and sentenced to 18 months suspended jail with credit for time served and referred to community corrections for 18 months.
