Floodwaters receding, leave mark on Marlinton
Monday, January 25, 2010 - 12:51pm
Floodwaters are receding in Marlinton, but the rushing current has left its mark on the town.
Lower Second and Third Avenues were hardest hit and Main Street businesses were spared by inches.
Stormwater runoff remained on Main Street at 6 p.m., but had receded by 7 p.m.
While floods are devastating, neighbors are helpful. Hillsboro Voluteer Fire Department was pumping out the Board of Education Office's lower floor Monday evening.
Our gratitude to those who warned us, those who helped us and those who prayed for us.
