Skiing accident kills Ohio woman

An Ohio woman died Saturday as a result of a skiing accident at Snowshoe Mountain Resort.

Andrea Rose Teodosio, 22, died at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Buckeye, said Laura Parquette, a spokeswoman for Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort.

Parquette said the woman was on a beginner slope and was not wearing a protective helmet.

Teodosio was transported by Shavers Fork Fire Rescue to PMH.

"Snowshoe Mountain sends their deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of the victim," Parquette said.

Parquette said she could not release further details of the accident or Teodosio's injuries.

According to the web site ohio.com/news, Teodosia was the daughter of two Ohio judges.
That web site further covered Teodosia's life:

''It's beyond tragic,'' said Don Ursetti, Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio's court administrator. ''She was just a joy to be around, a remarkably sweet person. Every time you saw her, she had a smile on her face.''
Teodosio was a graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School and John Carroll University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration communications.
She was employed by Hitchcock Fleming & Associates in Akron as aresearch and strategy/development assistant.
The Teodosio family is well known in Summit County. Tom Teodosio's father, Al Teodosio, was a longtime chairman of the Summit County Democratic Party.
Tom Teodosio, a general division judge in the Common Pleas Court, is a former Summit County Council member.
Linda Tucci Teodosio is a former Cuyahoga Falls municipal judge. She has been the county's juvenile court judge since 2003.
The couple's son, Christopher Teodosio, attends law school at the University of Akron.
Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.

This is the only death at Snowshoe Mountain Resort this season. The last death at the resort occurred in the 2008-09 season.
