On the morning of September 13, truck driver Michael Crossland, of Oklahoma, left the Dollar General in Monterey, Virginia, and headed to the Dollar General in Green Bank.

Crossland was given directions to take Rt. 250 and Buffalo Mountain Road, where his truck slipped off the narrow dirt road and left him stranded.

According to West Virginia State Trooper R.S. Weirich, a large crane removed the truck sometime Wednesday evening.

Crossland stayed with the truck Tuesday night and said it was a restless night.

モEvery time an acorn fell on the truck or I heard a noise, I was afraid the truck was going over the mountain,ヤ he said.

This was Crosslandメs second solo run as a truck driver. He did not sustain any injuries.
