The following accident reports were filed in the Pocahontas County Sheriff's Office during the period January 5 to January 12, 2010:

December 28: John B. Wade, of Richmond, Virginia, was driving a 2004 Jeep Cherokee north on Route 219 near Slaty Fork in rainy conditions. He lost control of the vehicle, which ran off the west side of the roadway, struck an embankment and came to rest on its passenger side. No injuries reported and no citations.

December 28: Brian N. Adkins, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet pickup west on Route 66 near Slaty Fork in snowy conditions. Adkins lost control of the vehicle and slid into a guardrail. No injuries reported and no citations.
