According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases.
In Magistrate Kathy Beverage's court:
Two counts of battery against Mitch A. Simmons, 47, of Green Bank, were dismissed February 4 by motion of the defense attorney. The State did not object.
Michael Marcel Hickson, 33, of Arbovale, pleaded no contest February 4 to a charge of domestic battery. He was assessed a $100 fine and $159.50 in court costs. He was sentenced to six months of suspended jail time and placed on community corrections program for three months.
Charges of obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct against Adam Michael Cumashot, 26, of Hillsboro, were dismissed due to expiration of a six-month pretrial diversion.
Kevin Reed McCoy, 38, of Hillsboro, was reinstated to day report February 3 for charges of driving under the influence, second offense, driving suspended/revoked for DUI, registration violation, no proof of insurance and destruction of property.
Douglas Ray Robinson, 41, of Marlinton, was terminated from day report February 5 and will remain in jail until a bed becomes available in a rehabilitation facility. He was on day report for a charge of obstructing an officer.
In Magistrate Janet Kershner-Vanover's court:
Ricky Ramsey, 53, of Renick, appeared in court February 8 on a charge of driving suspended/revoked for DUI, second offense. Bond was set at $1,000.
Terence Mark Cook, 25, of Marlinton, appeared in court February 12 on a charge of driving suspended/revoked for DUI. Bond was set at $500.
Steven M. Arbogast, 37, of Valley Head, pleaded guilty February 11 to a charge of conspiring in a game violation. He was assessed a $50 fine and $159.50 in court costs. A charge of game violation was dismissed on motion of Assistant Prosecutor J.L. Clifton.
A charge of obstructing an officer against Richard Douglas McMillion, 36, of Marlinton, was dismissed with prejudice February 9 on a joint motion filed by Assistant Prosecutor Clifton, the defense attorney and the defendant.
Donald L. Rider, 57, of Marlinton, was found not guilty February 9 of a charge of battery.
