Magistrate Court

According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases.

Joshua Allen Alderman, 18, of Marlinton, appeared in court April 19 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 15 grams. He was sentenced to six months unsupervised probation to expire October 19, 2010.

Donald R. Campbell, 48, of Hillsboro, was arrested April 29 on charges of obstructing an officer and public intoxication. Bond was set at $1,100.

James M. Walker, 45, of Hillsboro, was arrested April 29 on a charge of possession of less than 15 grams of marijuana, second offense. Bond was set at $1,000. He was released from jail April 30.

Jeremy D. Moore, 24, of Marlinton, was arrested April 29 on a charge of burglary. Bond was set at $25,000. He was released from jail April 30.

Carla Lynn Johnson, 24, of Hillsboro, was arrested April 29 on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Bond was set at $15,000. She was released from jail April 30.

In Magistrate Kathy Beverage's court:

Fredric P. Gardner, of Cass, pleaded no contest April 29 to charges of timbering without a license, failure to notify about timber operations and timbering while suspended. He was assessed a $750 fine and $478.50 in court costs.

Barry Dean Atkins, 48, of Marlinton, pleaded no contest April 29 to charges of no proof of insurance and possession of a controlled substance. He was assessed a $300 fine, $319 in court costs and sentenced to six months suspended jail and placed on Pocahontas County Day Report for six months.

In a preliminary hearing April 27, probable cause was found against David Wayne Doyle, 37, of Bartow, on a charge of burglary. He was assessed $10 in court costs. The case was sent to circuit court.

Margaret E. Feury, 35, of Marlinton, pleaded guilty April 27 to charges of obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct and battery on a police officer. She was assessed an $850 fine, $478.50 in court costs, $101 in additional fees and sentenced to 180 days suspended jail and placed on community corrections for one year with credit for time served.

Kenny D. Feury, Jr., 31, of Marlinton, pleaded guilty April 27 to charges of obstructing and officer, disorderly conduct and battery on a police officer. He was assessed an $850 fine, $478.50 in court costs, $101 in additional fees and sentenced to 160 days suspended jail and placed on community corrections for one year with credit for time served.
