According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases.
Bond was transferred to circuit court May 20 for Michael N. Pauley, 31, of Marlinton, for two counts of delivery of a schedule I controlled substance. He was assessed $10 in court costs.
William C. Martin, 58, of Hillsboro, entered six months pre-trial diversion May 20 for a charge of domestic battery.
Bond was transferred to circuit court May 18 for Gary L. Williams, of Monterey, Virginia, for a charge of abuse and neglect. He was assessed $10 in court costs.
In Magistrate Kathy Beverage's court:
A felony charge of prohibited person with firearm against Samuel David Brock, 21, of Hillsboro, was dismissed May 17 by agreement of all parties. The charge was reduced to a misdemeanor.
In Magistrate Janet Kershner-Vanover's court:
Samuel Madison, 35, of Marlinton, pleaded guilty May 20 to charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was assessed a $100 fine, $319 in court costs and a $25 arrest fee and sentenced to 24 hours jail with credit for time served.
Everette Woody, 59, of Marlinton, pleaded guilty May 18 to a charge of brandishing a deadly weapon. He was assessed a $200 fine and $159.50 inᅠ court costs.
Sherry Lynn Kerns, 38, of Hillsboro, pleaded no contest May 24 to a charge of obstructing an officer. She was assessed $159.50 in court costs, a $25 arrest fee and given credit for time served in jail.
Erica Marie Engquist, 30, of Snowshoe, pleaded no contest May 20 to a charge of driving under the influence, first offense. The charge was reduced from driving under the influence with child endangerment. She was assessed a $200 fine, $159.50 in court costs and $100 in additional fees.
A charge of domestic battery against Lawrence E. Madison, 66, of Marlinton, was dismissed May 20 on motion of Assistant Prosecutor J.L. Clifton.
A charge of left of center against David Max Kaetzel, 48, of Kerens, was dismissed May 20 on motion of Assistant Prosecutor Clifton.
Matthew Robert Smith, 18, of Hampton, Virginia, pleaded no contest May 20 to a charge of driving under the influence. He was assessed a $250 fine, $159.50 in court costs, a $25 arrest fee, $110 additional fees and given credit for time served.
Robert Denver Sharp, 30, of Hillsboro, was found not guilty May 20 of a charge of left of center.
Marty Wetzel Taylor, 43, of Dunmore, was sentenced May 19 for a charge of domestic battery. He pleaded guilty November 19, 2009. He was assessed a $250 fine, $159.50 in court costs, a $25 arrest fee and sentenced to 48 hours in jail. The sentence was stayed pending an appeal filed May 19. The appeal bond was set at $2,500.
Ricky Ramsey, 53, of Renick, pleaded guilty May 18 to a charge of driving suspended/revoked for non-DUI, second offense. He was assessed a $200 fine and $159.50 in court costs.
Kimberly McDowell, 44, of Marlinton, pleaded guilty May 18 to a charge of driving suspended/revoked for non-DUI. She was assessed a $200 fine and $159.50 in court costs. A charge of no proof of insurance was dismissed due to a plea agreement between the Prosecuting Attorney and defense attorney.
A charge of domestic battery against Larry A. Cutlip, 45, of Marlinton, was dismissed May 18 on motion of the Prosecuting Attorney.
A charge of providing false information against Susan Cassell, 51, of Buena Vista, Virginia, was dismissed May 18 on motion of her defense attorney.
