Three local men arrested for sexual offenses
One Hillsboro man and two Marlinton men have been arrested by Sheriffメs Deputy D.M. Brock for sexual assault in the third degree, according to the criminal complaints filed in the Pocahontas County Magistrate Court.
John F. Rogers, 39, of Hillsboro, was arrested June 15 after the Pocahontas County Sheriffメs Department was contacted by a Department of Health and Human Resources Child Protective Services investigator with information on a possible sexual assault complaint.
Brock wrote in the criminal complaint that Monica Accord, a CYAC Forensic Interviewer, said the first alleged victim had described Rogers making sexual contact with her and that he had told her it "was okay to do this."
According to the criminal complaint, Rogers agreed to be interviewed without an attorney present and stated that he had digitally penetrated the first alleged victim while he was intoxicated.
The second alleged victim stated Rogers put his hand down the front of her pants and forced her to perform oral sex while his wife lay sleeping beside them in the bed. The second alleged victim was staying withᅠ Rogersメ familyᅠ because her parents were away, the criminal complaint stated.
Rogers did not disclose any inappropriate acts with the second alleged victim.
Rogers is currently lodged at Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
Beau Ryder Hawkins, 21, of Marlinton and Luca Jory Byrd, 18, of Marlinton were both arrested June 23.
Byrd called the Pocahontas County Sheriffメs Department and gave Deputy C.M. Cole a verbal statement, saying he had sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old numerous times, Brock wrote in the criminal complaint.
When Brock responded to the call made by Byrd, he went to the residence of the alleged victim and found her alone with Hawkins.
Hawkins was transported to the Sheriffメs Department and questioned by Brock. The criminal complaint stated that Hawkins agreed to answer questions without an attorney present and stated that he had sexual intercourse with the alleged victim.
Brock also questioned the alleged victim and she stated that she had performed oral sex on Hawkins and had intercourse with Byrd.
Hawkins is lodged at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond. Byrd was released from jail June 29.
