Magistrate Court

According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases.

Tiffany K. Ryder, 26, of Cass, was arrested August 10 on a charge of domestic battery. Bond was set at $2,000.

Travis Arbogast, 33, of Arbovale, was arrested August 13 on a charge of domestic battery. Bond was set at $2,500.

Noel Santana Garcia, 43, of Bartow, was arrested August 12 on a charges of two counts of domestic battery. Bond was set at $5,000.

Jeremiah Powell, 28, of Hillsboro, was arrested August 7 on a charge of domestic battery, third offense. Bond was set at $15,000.

Randall Eugene Bibb, 57, of Marlinton, was arrested August 13 on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. Bond was set at $5,000.

Crystal Dawn Baker, 27, of Marlinton, was arrested August 13 on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Bond was set at $10,000.

A charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance against Carla Lynn Johnson, 25, of Hillsboro, was transferred to circuit court August 10. Probable cause was found in a preliminary hearing on the same day.

In Magistrate Janet Kershner-Vanover's court:

Brian Bradley Withers, 35, of Marlinton, pleaded guilty August 10 to charges of leaving the scene, driving suspended/revoked for non-DUI, registration violation and no proof of insurance. He was assessed a $450 fine, $648.20 in court costs and sentenced to 100 days jail, to serve 10 days with credit for time served. He was placed on six months Day Report. A charge of unlawful taking of a vehicle was dismissed per plea agreement.

James Andrew Richards Smith, 33, of Marlinton, pleaded guilty August 10 to charges of obstructing an officer, driving under the influence, driving suspended/revoked for non-DUI and failure to stop/yield. He was assessed a $210 fine, $653.20 in court costs, $55 in additional fees and sentenced to nine months suspended jail and placed on two years at Day Report.
