According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases.

In Magistrate Janet Kershner-Vanover's court:

Sharla A. Cobb, 63, of Buckeye, pleaded no contest October 5 to a charge of brandishing a deadly weapon. She was assessed a $50 fine and $160.80 in court costs.

Phillip Cameron Dean, Jr., 37, of Marlinton, pleaded no contest October 8 to a charge of leaving the scene with property damage. He was assessed $165.80 in court costs and sentenced to one day jail with credit for time served.

Frank James Malone, 62, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, pleaded no contest October 7 to a charge of speeding. The charge was reduced from 45 mph in a 35 mph speed zone to 44 mph in a 35 mph. He was assessed a $10 fine and $165.80 in court costs.

Nicholas Robert Irvine, 20, of Marlinton, pleaded no contest October 7 to a charge of speeding. He was assessed a $5 fine and $165.80 in court costs.

A charge of domestic battery against Keith Pondexter, 48, of Marlinton, was dismissed with prejudice October 7. The arresting officer failed to appear.

Rex Allen Skidmore, II, 20, of Hillsboro, was placed on six months unsupervised probation on October 5 for a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 15 grams. He was assessed $166.80 in court costs.

Kenneth M. Baker, 52, of Snowshoe, pleaded guilty October 5 to a charge of driving under the influence. He was assessed a $100 fine, $165.80 in court costs, $75 in additional fees and sentenced to one day jail with credit for time served.

A charge of destruction of property against Larry Brian Talkington, 47, of Marlinton, was dismissed October 6 on a joint motion of all parties involved. Restitution was made and the property was returned.

The following cases were transferred to circuit court October 7.

John Tony Greathouse, 29, of Bartow, charged with possession of a Schedule III controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, less than 15 grams.

Herbert G. McClure, Jr., 59, of Marlinton, charged with driving under the influence, third offense.

Crystal Dawn Baker, 27, of Marlinton, charged with driving suspended/revoked for DUI.
